Student Life & Activities

Students on campus have their own representative organ. The GSC (General Student Council), which sponsors democratic, active and autonomous activities in order to set up sound and creative academic traditions, promote campus culture, and contribute to national development. Within the range of the autonomous student activities are the following:

1. Academic, artistic athletic, and cultural activities
2. All kinds of activities of public spirit such as medical service and technological service
3. Activities for prevention against disaster and relief
4. Other supplementary activities

In addition to the GSC, there are several student organs.
Various extracurricular activities are designed to promote sound hobby activities, desirable personal relations and personal development. The university has about 100 registered circles as of 2009. The General Tong-ari Association, founded in 1985, takes care of the interests and development of individual circles and holds many activities like the annual circle festival for making contributions to the growth of university culture.
The club activities help the members train themselves as leaders of self-perfection who will benefit the public. The university authorities annually award some excellent circles a prize as a way of encouraging healthy extracurricular activities, in consideration of their soundness, sincerity, progressiveness and service to the community as well as to the school.

The Career Center is operated by the Job Guidance Section in the Office of Student Affairs in order to provide students with general information on employment. This Center helps students succeed in job hunting by publishing a brochure of job information, by holding all kinds of special lectures on employment, by counselling on choice of jobs, and by recommending them for employment. In addition, this center offers many opportunities for broad experience through helping them find a side-job by using the educational-industrial cooperative system.
