Graduate Program
Graduate School of Social Welfare
Established in 1996, in accordance
with Article 108 of the Educational Law, the Graduate
School of Social Welfare aims to produce specialists in
the field of social welfare. Two programs are offered: a
regular master's course and a research or non-degree
course.
The admission quota
for two majors shall be 40 students.
One who meets one of the
following requirements shall be admitted£º
1. One who has earned or is scheduled to earn a
bachelor's degree
from a four-year college.
2. One who has completed a bachelor's course abroad and
whose
qualifications are approved by the DAU president.
3. One whose qualifications accord with the related
Korean laws.

Admission
Screening Methods
|
There are two kinds of screening:
a general screening and a special screening. The
regulations for these shall be specified elsewhere.
Students can be readmitted within
three years after withdrawal from the MA program with
the permission of the DAU President . The Dean of the
graduate school shall recommend if there is room in the
student enrollment.

Five semesters
shall be the term of study, while eight semesters shall
be the maximum limit of attendance. The period of temporary
withdrawal shall be excluded from the term of attendance.

Grade C or higher shall be acceptable,
while the academic average of all courses
should be 3.0 or higher for the screening
of course completion.

1. The minimum limit for the master's
course completion shall
be 24 credits. 2. The maximum limit one can earn per
semester shall be 6 credits.. 3.
The detailed regulations for taking courses shall be
specified elsewhere by
the dean via the discussion at the Graduate School
of Policy Sciences Committee.

Credits before Readmission
|
One's credits already
earned before permanent withdrawal or removal can be
approved at the time of readmission.

Registration,
Temporary Withdrawal, Reinstatement, Removal,
and Permanent Withdrawal
|

Registration
|
When one pays tuition
fees and applies for courses within the specific period,
registration shall be completed.
|

|
|
1.

When one cannot attend a third or more of
the classes due to illness or other reasons,
a temporary withdrawal can be approved leg
the Dream.
|
|
2.
|
One cannot withdraw for more than two
consecutive semesters. The maximum limit is
three semesters during one's term of
attendance. The withdrawal period owing to
military service shall not be counted.
|
|
3.
|
One who withdraws temporarily shall
retain school register during the withdrawal
period which shall not be included in one's
term of attendance.
|
|
4.
|
One who has received permission to withdraw during the registration period
shall be exempt from tuition fees.
|
|

|
One who wants reinstatement
should submit a prescribed form within the first 30
days after the beginning of the semester to get the
dean's approval.

|
|
Each of the following shall be removed£º
|
|
1.
|
One who doesn't register within the given
period after the expiration of withdrawal.
|
|
2.
|
One who fails to register within the
specific period of each semester.
|
|
3.
|
One who has earned the average grade of C or lower for two or more semesters,
or two or more F grades per semester.
|
|
4.
|
One who is determined by the Graduate
School of Social Welfare Committee to be
incapable of continuing one's study owing to
improper activites, illness, or other
reasons.

|
One who wants permanent withdrawal
should submit a prescribed form to the Dean of Graduate
School to get the permission of the DAU president.

Open Lectures,
Research Students, and Foreign Students
|

Open Lectures
|
|

|

If found necessary, open
lectures concerning administration and
policy can be held, and one who has
completed them will be given a special
certificate.
|
|
2.
|
The detailed regulations regarding the
names, subjects, hours, places, and quota of
open lectures shall be specified elsewhere
by the approval of the DAU president upon
recommendation of the Graduate School of
Social Welfare Committee.

Those who want to take certain courses or
engage in projects provided by the Graduate
School of Social Welfare shall be accepted
as research course students.

Research students are those with
bachelor's degrees or equivalent
qualifications and who have passed the
specific screening.

Research Period and Coursess

The research period for research students
shall be one year.

Research students can enroll in two courses
of the master's program per semester.

Course Completion Certificate
|
A course completion
certificate shall be given to a student who has completed
the research course.

Open Lectures,
Research Students, and Foreign Students
|
|
Open Lectures
|
As long as there is no
conflict with the curriculum, open lectures can be
provided for research students.
One who has a bachelor's degree
from a 4-year college or equivalent qualifications as
approved by the Education Minister can be accepted as a
research student, if one is recommended by the
corresponding department's professors and passes the
specific screening.

Course Completion Certificate
|
A course completion certificiate
can be issued to a research student who has completed
the research course and passed the specific
examinations.
Foreigners with equivalent
qualifications can be admitted through the specific
screening in addition to the admission quota.

Degree
|
|
Degree Requirements
|
A master's degree shall be
offered to those successful students who have earned
enough credits and passed the general qualifying
examinations or a dissertation.
The Graduate School of Social
Welfare offers a master's degree in Social Welfare(MA).
