University Libraries

Dong-A University has 3 separate libraries on its 2 campuses: Su nghak and Kudok. The first university library opened in Dec. 1949 on Kudok Campus. However, the Hallim Library on Sunghak Campus became the main university library in Sept. 1981. All the materials were moved to this new library except those on the social sciences, music and fine arts. In 1988 the Medical Library started to function as an independent one, serving both the College of Medicine and the Dong-A Medical Center on Kudok Campus.
The primary purpose is to support scholarly activities but the libraries welcome users not affiliated with the university.
Our libraries hold 750,000 monographs, 3,400 serials, and some non-book materials such as audio-visual materials, microforms, computer resources, etc. These are increasing by over 40,000 volumes every year and continuing to develop resources. The main library has 2,082 seats and the total sum is 4,868 seats.
